Use CommentLuv for better comments
I just finished my daily ritual of reading my favorite sites. Tay over at Super Blogging must have added a new plugin to his site. Once I left a comment I saw that it had grabbed a feed from my site of the last post and added it. I saw that the plugin is called commentluv and once I saw this I had to have it.
Encourage Comments
Everyone that blogs knows that leaving comments is a great way to drive trafic to your site. I can not tell you how many new websites I have become a frequent reader of by clicking on the link with the commenter’s name. Some sites still have a hard time driving traffic with this but I think all in all that comments in blogs are the best way to get new visitors. Asking questions of your readers is a great way to encourage comments and I do not do enough of it. I will start to do this more often.
The truth is besides loving to see that a post was commented on, I like to see the sites of the other readers.
Reward comments
One way of rewarding comments is called link love. Bloggers that create special posts for their readers that highlight the websites of their top
commenter’s is a wonderful way of rewarding other bloggers. For blogs like mine that do not get a large number of comments (though I would love them) adding this type of plugin could give you an added bonus that will encourage more comments on your blog.
You will see this addition to the bottom of the comments section. If you have a blog and want some extra backlinks, here is your opportunity.
Are you using commentluv?
If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed!

Thanks for dropping by my blog and for the link! I agree with you, commenting is one of the best ways to network and meet other bloggers, and to get your blog out there. I think CommentLuv is a fantastic plugin and helps reward your commentators and send even more traffic to them. Thanks for writing this.

You are so right about the commenluv plugin encouraging comments as well as the conversation. I have several blogs I take care of and I am getting it installed on all of them slowly but surely.

Using the “Blogger” set-up, I can’t use CommentLuv, but at least I removed my blog’s no-follow tags on comments.

awesome little tool
I think CommentLuv may become a “spam attractor” — but it’s up to the blogger.
uGuX SEO’s last blog post..Gigablast SEO Part II
I think any blog can be an attractor at this stage. Heck on our hosted blog which is obviously no follow we still get bombarded with spam comments. If it’s a text box it will get hit. I think it has positive aspects in the sense that I can now see a list of articles I may want to read that I was never previously exposed to otherwise.
Greenie’s last blog post..Almost Time For Picnics And Fun
if you search “This blog uses CommentLuv v1.0 which will try and parse your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you” followed by your keywords you will find sites that are related to you and give some CommentLuv. This may see worthless, but it does help you build up a community.
Sending some CommentLuv at you.

i found out about comment luv of digital forum, they are a great way like you said to drive traffic from reputable sites,

I’m new to blogging, but CommentLuv seems like an excellent idea. It both encourages commenters (spammers can still be moderated) and also keeps commenters’ anchor text clean, and rewards them with an extra back link.

I’ll put this one in my blog.

SOCOM,
I have to agree with you, I to would like more comments left but at the same time to have comments for the sake of links or simply to say “yea I agree” seems kind of silly.
Blogging is about conversation, or at least I would like to think that it is, I would like to see more of the threads go in more of a converdational way,
Could you imagine sitting at Starbucks and havin a conversation that goes the way of most blog topics, LOL, I’d feel like I was stuck out on the back fence with Hank Hill and friends
Have a great day,
Richard

Interesting!
CommentLuv helps you reward your commentators by separating their name from their keywords in the link to their site. This gives them improved anchor text, which can help their site rank higher in the search engine results.
You can now leave a comment with your name as well as a keyword of your choice here and get a PR5 link back to your site! How cool is that? People pay big bucks for that and all you have to do is comment here.

CommentLuv has proved itself to be very helpful and promising. I really like this plugin, it will definitely attract more readers to my beauty salon equipment blog.

I think it has positive aspects in the sense that I can now see a list of articles I may want to read that I was never previously exposed to otherwise. But is quiet different in standalone sites, for eg a savings website would not have the functionality.

There seems to be an updated version of commentluv on some blogs which checks how many posts you have on the posters blog before it will allow them a link. You need 3 posts, which I guess cuts down on spam from people who have just set up a spam blog to try to get some quick links.
My own blog at Karlonia.com does not yet have the CommentLuv plugin but it is DoFollow for comments.
Another useful plugin for encouraging comments is KeywordLuv, which allows commenters to choose the anchor text for their links but also allows them to use their real names or usernames. I discovered the KeywordLuv plugin a few months ago, but sadly my theme seems to be incompatible. This probably doesn’t matter much, however; people seem to be doing a good enough job of putting their keywords in the name field anyway

Jon, you are right about the results of using the plugin. I’m going to check out your site right now because of it.
I’m just wondering if anyone has had any problems with spam while using this. It seems to me that all a spammer, or even a malicious competitor, would have to do is post their garbage on their own blog, and ultimately bombard your blog comment section with spam.
p1nk g33k’s last blog post..Want to display only banner ads from AdBrite?
Yeah comments are definitely a great way to make your site go viral. Viral in the sense that the content for your site is updated by its visitors for you automatically, which in turn gets you more visitors.

Well boom boom viral and bomb sites Ha Ha
Features like CommentLuv as well as the various comment spam plugins are such a good step in the right direction imho - that being said some of them do work a little too well at times. Comments are a must for any blog if you ask me - whats the point in writing if you can’t gain feedback from your readers? Its where the whole concept of networking sites begin!
Sites owners who use CommentLuv should disable the no follow tags in comments or else it renders it almost useless at a link building tool.

I think it now almost impossible to survive with out all these plugins because they re now as essential as any other aspect of our blogs. I don’t know how much traffic boost I’ll get and what would be stats but I am excited to join the race.
This is a very good plugin, now I can easily add this and benefit my users. Thank you very much.
